At Les Mirliflores, every biscuit tells a story . Elisa and Gwenaëlle, former historians , founded their artisanal biscuit factory with a shared passion: to revive the forgotten flavors of French culinary heritage . Our ambition? To take your taste buds on a journey through time by rediscovering authentic recipes, sometimes thousands of years old, always delicious.

The origin of Mirliflores

The idea for Mirliflores was born from our love for history and baking . Fascinated by the culinary traditions of yesteryear, we undertook a long research project in various historical, culinary, medicinal and iconographic documents in order to recreate biscuits worthy of the great eras of the past.

This is how our first range of historical biscuits was born, inspired by recipes dating from the Middle Ages to the First World War. Each bite is a fragment of the past , made with carefully selected ingredients to respect the know-how of yesteryear.

The manufacturing

We make all our biscuits by hand in our workshop.
Each of our biscuits is shaped and cut by hand, giving them their "homemade" look, a guarantee of quality that only a true artisanal biscuit factory can offer. Once baked and cooled, we then package our biscuits by hand. Our drinking cocoa is also prepared by us.

The taste, origin, and cultivation methods of ingredients are values that are particularly important to us. We therefore favor local raw materials whenever possible to guarantee you quality, authentic, and delicious products. What cannot be found locally, such as tea, cocoa, or spices, is sourced from suppliers committed to quality (product traceability, sustainability, high quality standards) and mindful of ethical principles.

  • Preparing the dough

    We weigh all our ingredients individually and then combine them using our mixer. Our recipes contain no artificial colors, preservatives, or palm oil.

  • The shaping

    All our cookies are handmade. For example, we've shaped thousands upon thousands of balls to make our famous hairy balls!

  • Cooking and packaging

    Once shaped, we place our cookies on our baking sheets and our oven takes care of baking them to perfection! After cooling, we wrap them one by one by hand.
